Southern Comforters Quilt Guild of Bowie, Maryland

A Rousing Success!

On March 11-12, 2006, the Southern Comforters hosted their annual quilt show at the C. Elizabeth Rieg School. The amazing collection of over 160 quilts by guild members drew many appreciative comments and votes. Many of the winning quilts will be shown again at the 2007 show, for those who may have missed them.

The raffle quilt was won by a fellow quilter from Eternal Quilters in Glen Burnie, Maryland, Beth Roos, who chose to attend the guild meeting on March 22nd to receive her prize. (Click on the picture to see a full-sized view.)

Ribbon Winners

All show attendees were asked to vote for their favorites in six different categories. Ribbons were awarded for the top three in each category. Ribbons were also awarded for Best in Show and Members Choice. Click on the picture to see a full-sized view.

Other Events

In addition to the raffle quilt and displays of guild-made quilts, the 2006 Quilt Show featured a silent auction, door prizes, Keepsakes Korner, various vendors, ongoing kids activities, eight different demonstrations, and the featured work of long-time guild member, Margy Hill.
